(SR)problem getting it started

well, its in we dont have the i/c hooked up but tried to start it and uhhhhhh no it jerks ,shakes ,an exaust beat every now and then ,but no start.while we were trying to start it a flame came out of the throttle body????(flooding maybe?)

-things we tried

-well we messed with the distributer thing on the right side of the motor and it sounded a bit better but no start.

-connnected i/c pipin just to see,no

one of my friends that has done the swap stopped by and told me in order to start it we had to connect a hose thats on the intake manifold to the intercooler, and i was just wondering do i need to connect my bov to the also juust to get it started?well im about to be done 4 the day,but i will try to adjust the timin tommorrow....

thanx john

I couldn;t tell you what the problem is, maybe could be just a bunch of **** built up in the motor that needs to be burned out, who knowsd, but I can almost guarentee that starting fluid will start the car(as long as you have even a little bit of spark)

today we checked compression
-cyl1 120
-cyl2 120
-cyl3 0
-cyl4 120

to sum it up we had to pull the head off and we found a screw lodged in the intake valve (which explains the flame out of th throttle body)and messed up the head and the top of the cylnder.-------Good times!!!!!!! j/k

SR's aren't that throaty sounding since they're turboed. it's still a smooth, beautiful sounding engine, but once the turbo spools up, it's a different ballgame
