SR20 alternator

Does anyone know where I can get an alternator for my S13 SR redtop besides off another SR? Will any other alternators fit? Thanks.

It is said that KA24DE Alternators will fit on an SR20DET w/ minor modification, like using the SR's pulley peice. I do not know this for a fact, I never tried.

Most sites that sell SR Alternators are pretty expensive and used

There's a thread (here? maybe zilvia?) about fitting the Nissan Quest alt as a replacement. More amps, much cheaper. I don't remember the details though...

Edit: Oops, my bad, it's for KAs. It's probably worth reading just to see the kind of things you'll run into with a different alt, even from the same car manufacturer..

Anybody try an SE-R alt I wonder?
