SR20 ECU BBQ-what happened???

Here's a pic of a S13 SR20 ECU opened up. The two long black things are melted, wondering what it was caused from if anyone knows? The car ran fine before(in Japan) but when the customer tried to test the 1/2 cut the ECU smoked. I'm wondering if the fuel pump or some other wires shorted where the car was 1/2 cut thru the chassis harness?

Looks like the ecu wasnt bolted down all the way or there was a short somewhere. I fried my half cut ecu after I installed my SR for the first time. Fired right up but being from the Honda/Acura side didnt realize that the ecu bolt on the ecu could be tightened down pretty hard and only tightened it down enough to where it felt secure. Test drive down the street and car shut off...fuel pump wasnt working any more. Pulled the ecu, saw the bbq and realized what I had done.

without knowing all of the factors i would double check the wiring. thats where i would start then try another ecu and see if the problems happens again if it does happen again you know for sure you have a wiring problem. it may have been a ecu that was on the way out any way. ive never that problem with a sr20 ecu . it may have been one of things that happens once and you just cant explain it
