sr20 rebuild
sr20 rebuild
Hi, I am currently rebuilding my sr20det, including new pisons, h-beam rods, and new bearings. The problem I have is that I need to know what the stock bore diameter is for the sr20, so I can see if it has been previously bored. Also, I was wondering if anyone has heard of JE pistons, and if they are any good. And finally, will most of the information in a repair manual for a sr20de be the same for the sr20det? Thanks for your help. -Derek
JE pistons is a pretty good name in the industry to the best of my knowledge. The stock bore diameter is 86 mm. (stroke is 86mm as well) There are plenty of repair manuals for sr20det's online that u can download so you dont have to use the sr20de manual. good luck
Sounds like a good setup to me. One of our customers ran a guy last fall not realizing he had blown his lower rad hose and his temp guage was PINNED
He let it cool down and dumped hot water in it, but I figured it would catch up with him sooner or later. About 2 weeks ago it started to smoke a little and loose power, so he ripped it out and is having a build done.
JE Pistons
Eagle Rods
Cryotreated crank
ARP head studs
Cometic Head Gasket
Should be pretty cool, he'll have it back in a couple of weeks.
