Um i thought i seen that there are like 3 different SR20DET....

The one thats like 202hp, another one (forget) and the new one in the S15 (i guess) thats like 250hp? Whats the deal......would they all fit into a 1990 240sx? Something tells me they wouldnt, but i wana make sure i know which ones will fit before i buy one that i realize it wont fit....(oh and whats the deal with redtop/blacktop SR20DET...isnt it just that the blacktops are newer, or vice versa)

 

Pleaseeeeee search. We have covered this many many many times. Ill give you a little info, S13s/180s came with Redtop/blacktop SR20s, S14s came with Blacktop Sr20s, and S15s came with Blacktop SR20. Search for further info.

no doubt i did but i just didnt know what to cuz i'm not lookin for swap details and instructions, just info on the different types of the SR20DET engines....know of a site that sells the different types? Cuz i know of sites selling SR20DET's but how do you know if it is the one outta the S15 (the one i would get to put in my 90 240sx, cuz i believe it has got....like 250hp, and if it will fit, why get the cheaper, older ones....)

 

because the S15 conversion is about the hardest swap you can do into a S13 chassis....or S14 chassis for that matter.

damn, so it doesnt fit.....guess if i want that kinda power i should do a RB26DETT engine swap....and i've read that, that fits with moderate troubles....i believe the only ones that fit in s13 without any to little trouble would be SR20DET (s13 version), RB20DET, RB25DET, and with a bit more trouble (cuz 6spd) RB26DETT

 

Ones that fit with little modification, S14 and S13 SR, RB20 and RB25...the RB26 has a few more things to do, and ive heard the wiring is hell.

Oh yeah, forgot that one! (is the redtop sr20det the s13 and the black top the s14?...if so i know the black is newer and has more horse, why does mostly everyone go with the redtop, something i missed?)

 

There are 2 SRs for the S13/180sx, blacktop and redtop. No difference there except for minor things(no power differnece) S14 SR is more expensive and thats why most people dont.

 

there is also a hyped up SR20 called the genesis engine its pushing i beleive 508 hp. from what i remember tomei out of japan produces this engine along with other other various engine's RB25det, RB26DETT, SR20DET, etc. here is the web site
