OK...just had my oil changed and they said it was a little low..nothng to be concerned about..but my question is this: Do the SR's use oil.....a friend has an RX7 and he has to constantly check his oil (I know different engine)...but anyway..are they oilburners?

From my experience with turbo cars, any turbo vehicle burns a little oil. you need to remember that the weel in the turbo spins at over 150,000 rpm. that is enough to make quite a bit of heat.

thats what I figured...just wanted to see if the SR was average or worse than others...just so I know what to expect...

dont know...I did not do the previous oil change...so this is the first one for me. I know it is at the full mark as of right now after having the oil changed...and now I can watch it...the main reason Iask is that the plugs that were in the car before it was sent up to me (they did afull tune up and intake cleaning on the car) had one plug that had some black "soot" on it...but I also do not know how long the plugs were in it so I have to watch everything and see...they did a compression test and assure me the engine is fine...I just like to know what engine uses oil more often than others...and what sort of things to look out for with this one......I mean I can literally go 3K miles in my Rex and not have to check the oil once...it is never low....so hopefully this one is close to the same...

My friend's SR burns a lil oil, maybe like 1/4 - 1/2 a quart? His engine is doing just fine right now
