can it be done?

ive really been thinkning about whether this is possible or not cause i have a friend who is selling a fully re-built twin-turbo 300zx enigine... and he'll give it to me cheap, as well i can prob install it without having to pay to much seeing as my buddy has a shop in his garage and will do it for not much more than a couple of cases of beer and parts... he says it can be done but i thought id check with ya'll first and see if anyonehas evefr heard of such an idea??

never heard of it. ANYTHING can be done if you have the green stuff. It's a pretty sick idea but it will throw the weight off so much. The car would handle like crap. Sure maybe down a 1/4 mile you can get some pretty nice times, but why would you want to kill the awesome handling our 240's have?

there isnt really enough room...it could be made to fit, with a lot of modifications...better off going with a VG30det....

I hear the Z31 engine fits with less modifications than the Z32. Just something to think about.

Isn't the Z31 the VG30ET?

From what I've heard - the DOHC motor won't fit between the strut towers of a 240... which would rule out a VG30DE/VG30DETT swap. I believe that the VQ motors are of similar dimensions which will probobly rule them out as well.

Not saying it can't be done, but widening your engine bay is some major work.

I know you can fit the VG30ET in there... I don't think Jason @ unstable-hybrids ever finished his project, but I think someon was building one for the GRM $2003 challenge.
