what year of 240sx easy for mods ( sr20det)

Hi,

Im planning to buy an 240sx , Im not quite sure on the generations

I heard 89-90 is different from 91-93 , is that true?

I want a year that is easy on swaps , and more parts availablilty.

Thanks

They are all the same when you are swapping the SR20DET. The SOHC might need a PS line.

Try some searches on the site.

The 89-90's have a different nose. (which I prefer to the 91+)

If you have an 89 and are doing an SR swap, you need a 91+ tach, JDM tach or aftermarket tach. For the P/S lines, you can get 91+ lines or you can rig something up fairly easily with your old lines. It will look like crap though. JDM lines will not work.

With an SR compressor, A/C lines have to be custom welded, no way around it. If you have a 91+ you can use the KA compressor. Only 2 of the 4 bolts line up, but it'll work. For the 89-90 KA compressor, you need a custom bracket.
