the sr20det is a nasty motor. It has plenty of power in stock form, but is also a great block to build up. the sr20det is not a bunch of hype. People who say that dont have one. I do not regret doing the swap at all.

Thats interesting link about the KA motors but for now I will keep the RB. Now who metioned reliable. My RB has been my daily driver and only car till DEC when I got my other 240 and not one problem with the RB at all. Anyway with a mount kit and drive shaft the RB is just as easy install as the SR. I know this well because I have the RB and Just finishing the SR install on my buddies car. As far as wiring I dont choose to mess with the headache and get the harness's done for a plug and play setup.

Hey, I have talked to Night7 Racing about the RB series engine. I did a little research and the heavy part of the engine is the transmission, but this weight is biased towards the rear and will give the car more weight in the back. SRs are good, but you cant build it too big in stock form without redoing all internals. The RB motors are basically bullet proof and can take gobs of power on stock internals. Plus a t3/t4 hybrid I think will bolt directly to the stock manifold. SRs are good for track racing and handling, the RB is great for drag racing. Plus if the RB wasn't any good, would they put it in their top car, Skyline GTR?

First i like to say at i like both engines SR and RB

but the fact is that the RB is bulletproof and the SR isnt, and if it blows then a RB can be rebuilt and for the SR you need a whole new engine

RB put down more power and can handle more than a SR
RBs have been taken over 1000hp, and i hear people take the RB20 close to 400HP on stock internals upgraded TO4 and a injectors, SAFC, 248 intake and exhuast cams and alcohol injection

i really dont knoe what the stock internal can hold in a SR

Also the install for the RB isnt that much harder than the SR wiring for the RB20DET is a breeze so easy that a person i been talkin to can tell over the phone to do it, RB20DET tranny hooks up to the stock 240sx driveshaft, and the rest is swap the crossmembers and cut alittle hood( weight reduction...haha ) and shave alittle downpipe and you are set

SO what if i am biases...haha

I think the SR20 can hold like 300hp on stock internals. The thing that I don't like so much about the SR is has an aluminum block. The RB has a cast iron block which will be like 10x stronger. Only reason why people like the SR better is that it has a ton of aftermarket support. The RB does not and lots of parts have to be sourced from Japan. I have a picture of a Skyline that runs 8.6
seconds in the 1/4 mile. I dont think an SR could ever do that.
