Why SR? [The Ka-T's Meow]

If a peson can get more power out of a Ka motor with a turbo then why is the Sr moto so popular?

People tend to overlook that. The internals arent exactly up to par like a SR, but it is more then enough for most people.

I only bought an SR because it's a bettter handling set up and easier to get a moderate amount of power out of.

most ka's are older and have higher mileage. id say the sr is just more cost efficient instead of rebuilding a high mileage ka block or questing to find a low mileage one

PLus that fact that many people shun the KA because it's USDM. Some people don't wanna deal with working with an NA engine that was not built with a turbo in mind. Also, like bullhead said, they have high mileage, so most just have the KA for going around instead of racing. It's a nice "little" engine though

I love the Ka. To me its a good all around motor for if you want to leave it stock, or boost some horses with turbo. I dont think i would swap to an Sr, only if i wanted to make a JDM car or something.

Yeah. Those people should also factor in something... If they think a 'high mileage' ka is in bad shape, just think of that SR20 that people are importing... Think of where that engine is coming from, for what reasons, and who was driving it.... Just picture, some kid giving it HELL because he knows he's about to get rid of it...etc....

i dont like the idea of turboing a naturally asperated motor, it was not built to be turbo. The SR is a better motor for a turbo
