*IF* your car has a speed limiter, it was put there by the factory, not the dealer.

I though the Altima was its own speed limiter. j/k

yeah sr's have speed limiters also, and its at 115 or 117 also just like a stock ka. i know a couple piggy back controllers get rid of the limiters basically any controller that gets rid of rev limiters will get rid of a speed limiter.

Speed limiters are put there for a reason, maybe your stock tires cant hold going 150 mph, or the car is very unstable at 150 mph...but for whatever reason it was put there it was for our safety. I mean I would too like to have the speed limiter taken off my car and see what its like to do 160 mph on the freeway but just think about something like that before you remove it, you might regret it...

Speed limiter and rev limiter are separate - Apexi rev/speed meter will remove the speed limiter, but not the rev limiter. I don't think piggybacks can remove the rev limiter - you will probably have to change the stock ecu for that.

well you can change the speed limiter or the rev limiter if you change the abilities of yoru car along with it, obviously you wouldnt raise the rev limiter on a stock engine but what about for those people who have done all the necessary precautions to rev an sr out to 8 and a half? and what about the peopel who have put high po tires and big brakes and maybe even a functional wing on their car so it can go 160 pretty "safely". not that i would want to do it. thats why they make things like FCON's to take away fuel cuts and rev limiters so your car can be faster. there are a lot of crazy guys out there that like to race crotch rockets on highways, so i guess those kind of things are for them, haha

it should be able to. 1st gen altimas with the manual trans. can theoretically hit 170. it just doesn't have enough hp to do it.

had some pretty hopeful things for KA and SR owners who REALLY want to go fast. the thread is olny a couple pages long but read up and make your own judgements.

I'm not sure what the altima's are supposed to limit at but I have gotten right around 134 (hard to tell exactly cause the speedo was off about 1.2% from my tires plus at that speed the stock speedometers are usually already off.) I think they are supposed to limit at 120 but I haven't hit the limiter yet.

The KA will hit it's rev limiter in 5th at either 156 or 164... I can't remember, but it has been done. I remember Mike Lee or Simon Kim did it on a road out in AZ when he finished his turbo. Changing the rear end would let you go faster than that.

you technically can alter the final gear ratio by throwin on some big wheels. then you could get like 20mph extra
