13b REW powered 240sx.

First off let me say that I LOVE the sr20det. So don't think I'm betraying Nissan. Anyways, my friend is having an LS1 put into his '94 R2 RX7, and he wants to get rid of his lightly modified 13b REW. He's going to give me a great price on it, so we start going over the idea of a 13b REW powered 240sx. The motor will be going into a '90 Fastback, and it's going to be used for Auto-X. Anyone else have an opinion on this?

Good:
Lighter motor.
More power potential.

Bad:
"I'll make the motor mounts if you make the drive shaft"
If I bought a pack of hot dogs, I'd have to file for bankruptcy.
"What the **** are we doing?"
"You don't really need Apex seals do you?"

I don't know much but I do know this.

Rotaries + 510s = Fun

If a rotary fits in a 510 then it should be able to fit in a 240sx.

Good luck and post some pics of that bad boy.

Or sell the rotary and get a SR!

you can autox in a sr
but you will be in sm
and the nat's dont have it or some crap like that..
yes you can race the rotary if you want
but its even more challenging..
and forget about doing real drag racing
the classes only allow swaps of same manufacturer
but yes
the rotary is nice.
i would love to put a 3 rotor in my 240
and just roll with that
but i must wait..

They don't make Mugen valve covers for 13b's?! Well there goes my plan, forget it now. I plan on using it for roadcourse type racing, but I'm not trying to win any awards, or go to nationals. I'm just doing this for my own personal fulfillment. If they don't let me race it I'll just have to kill them all; Godzilla style.

13B???

Damn, that's on hell of a swap if you have turbos on that engine. I know that you will dessimate a SR with it since the 13B TT has over 250 hp and SR's have 205 - 220 unless you go with the S15. I give you props for doing that conversion, might be tough, but it's all worth it.

As far as BattleStyleSPL goes, they 13B rotary engines don't really have pistons per say, they have a rotor....so JE could make a rotor for it? A tirangular shaped piston-type device that spins in an oval....

Yeah, forget about the JE pistons. I like the AEM billet-aluminum cam gears more.

My friend's not going to be doing his conversion until around March, so I still have a few more months to think about it, and learn more about the rotary engine. The only thing is that I really only wanted 300-325hp in my 240sx for a daily driver, but if I drop in the 13b, I'm going to have to buy another car. It's a sacrafice I'll have to make, but If I do perform the swap anyone want to help me "stroke my wankle".................I'm thinking about a 1.5L? HAHA, I'm so funny!
