15 Y/o Want To Start A 240 Project

I've been wanting a 240 since I was like 13, and I've decided that's going too be my first car. Should I buy it now and work on it slowly? Start from a straight beat 240 and clean it up? Or buy something that's pretty clean for a more expensive price. And I also know a bit about cars..just not too much, do you guys just pick up the knowledge from working on it?

And I want an S14, with a kouki front end.

you wont believe how much information you will pick up from working on the car yourself. you just learn as you build.

If you want to build something, go with a s13 shell, build that up. (cheaper)

but if your set on an s14, don't only go for kouki's... I was like that until I found my 95, and trust me, the zenki grows on you.

man if i knew what know now when i was 15, and i bought a 240, well not much would be different id still be broke cuz of cars, but id definently have one badass 240! lol
but yea dude get a shell with motor for cheap an biuld it up slowly, u will learn tons an tons from working on a car first hand, and try to get out an work on as many cars as u can an do LOTS and LOTS of research, the more u no the better, and if u want to have a really clean car, pay LOTS of attention to details, small details make HUGE differences IMO not body kits an big bright flashy ****, DETAILS! and take ur time, dont rush urself into doing or buying things unless u absolutely have to, the end result is always worth the wait

with the info on the web now from all the guys who have come before you, you should not make the mistakes that have been made time and time again.

hit the start menu go to programs and accessories and open up the NotePad

start to draft a plan of what you want to do and DO IT.

Alright sounds good, i'm going to try to find an s14 with a motor running or not, how should the exterior look when i buy it? should i blow lots of money on a really clean one, or get a decent conditioned one. how much would it cost me to get a decent one too pretty clean?

actually here's a better question, around how much would it take me too get a clean running 240 with an sr20det starting from a shell, and how much would it take me from a clean 240

i've considered going ka24det but i think im just going to go sr

okay will definately sign up too that, i was looking on vadriven and craigslist and autotrader, some are decent priced, might buy a dark green 95 5 speed and it supposedly runs for 2k?

oh..and if it is automatic is it hard to do a manual conversion

no.

and there are like 2,000 240's on vadriven, so i don't think you'll have a hard time. My cousins 95 is on there, 66k original miles so perfect if you want to turbo the KA.
