Someone told me that my 240 w/SR was gear limited to 165mph.
That is a F**king lie recently I took my car to 183mph @7100RPM So i was wondering that if there is anyone else who has gone beyond 180 as well. Please wirte back If you have I would love to know what my car can top out at.
Thanks,
JR

The fastest I've been in my car (it's a KA) was 137 I only stopped because I saw a car coming lol. I dunno about the SR but I am sure if the "limited" was issued before redlining. They measure it the 'safe' way. I love putting " " around words.

ahem.... i think you guys should do some research into the West Florida Sr20det community....the name Scott Avoy might sounds familiar... He along with a few other of my friends work at a shop called Secret Services...Scott's sr puts down 539rhwp and 414 torque...i have many videos to share heheh just dont have any hosting methods... 539 is 13more hp than the phase2motortrend project car that was professionally tuned by XS Engineering in California... wow i havent been on club240 in a while i need to make daily visits...hehe but yeah to answer your question...yes well over 180

SRs, KAs along with most other if not all NISSANs have speed limited ECU around 115-125 Mph. So doing an SR swap wouldnt do you any good unless you get a speed cut defender unit in your car or get a new ECU from Blitz, JWT and many other tuners offer tuned ECUs for SRs.

Oh yeah about posting it at 2 different places, sorry man I just didnt know where was the proper place to post it.

is it possible to take a limiter off? my other car is a KA24E and i topped it at well over 125. My speedo only goes to 115 and i was a good inch and a half past that(from the 115 mark to the place the pin actually pointed to)

There are few correct ways you can eliminate that limiter. The cheapest ways is to get a speed cut defender. Greddy, HKS, Blitz, and many other companies offer these speed cut defenders. They usually go for around $60 but you might be able to get it cheaper on ebay.
Once you get it installation is a breeze.

OR.. you can just unplug all the sensors on the tanny, except for the VSS, and then clip the yellow/green wire going to the ECU. do not clip the one going up to the gague cluster plug, but to the ECU from the harness. its a yellow wire with a green stripe. cutting that wire interupts the vehicle speed sensor signal to the ecu.

now, if you do only the wire cut, the computer will go by the 4th and 5th gear sensors on the tranny to regulate top end speed. hence why those get disconnected. so the ecu thinks youre in 1st - 3rd gears and sees no speed indication, all the while your speedo still works.

BTW, the factory is WAY off at high speeds. even when i had my limiter, it read way past 115mph, but on our dyno, it was right at 112.

I know you need the speed limiter cut, but I think my KA would blow up past 112

i dont know if any of you guys know this.. but if your speedomiter reads 120 mph, it isnt going 120mph, at best its probably going 115 (which is good enough for most people) because cars arnt areodynamic enough to push the air out of the way fast enough, even at 60mph your going only 58, and the difference gets bigger the faster you go
