What do you think boys? Would the alty take the 240 or would it be the other way around? I have raced alot of cars but never a 240? One last thing...why do you people not have a racing story forum?

 

Umm.. your 3.5SE has 240HP. A 240SX has 155hp.

Of course the 240sx would win.

ok lets look at it this way,

I own a 96 altima and my girlfriend owns a 96 240sx....She has cai and exhaust, I have just stock....When we race I win, but when I race in her car I win also....But the new 2k2 would kill the 240, even the 2.5....Hands down the alty would beat the 240.

 

To me the altima has a feeling of a FF 4 door version of a 240. I'm talking about first gen here. Hopefully someday i can have a turbo altima and 240sx maybe s13 with silvia conversion in my parking lot.

yeah the new altima would kill the 240, the altima would prolly beat a ITR being that it was tested at 14.4 quarter mile, damn thats quick

I really don't know if the 2.5 Alty would win. The 3.5 would beat the 240 easily though. I say this about the 2.5 because:
A) The 240 has the advantage off the line due to rear-wheel drive
and
B) I'm not sure how much the Alty weighs but I think its definitely heavier than the 240
And lets face it guys, 10 more horses won't even out the weight disadvantage the Alty has coming to the line.

 

The 2.5 Altima has 180HP opposed to the 240's 155. I think the 2.5 should still be able to beat the 240 somewhat easily.

 

not 100 percent but i think the 4 cyl altima runs low 16...16.1-16.3..ive seen test show anywhere from 14.4-14.7 for the 3.5

 

The older Altimas (same engine as the 240) run low 16s but yeah the 2002s are a bit heavier so I dunno how much faster they are. New Sentras were pulling mid-15s and they have the same engine so I'm guessing high 15s to low 16s for the Altima. My magazine racer logic for today.
