5spd conversion

I might be getting a another automatic 240sx, but he is including 5spd conversion parts, and i was wondering how much would it cost to get that converted in a shop? can just any auto shop do it or do i gotta go to a nissan autoshop to get it done, and also has anyone else here got there auto converted to a 5spd, is there any complications?

With the parts it should be pretty cheap shouldn't it? Just paying for labor. maybe 200-300? just guessin but that sounds like not too bad a price. I think most people who bought an auto 240 got it swapped. A 240 isn't at its full potential without a manual tranny.

I don't think a nissan dealership would do it for a reasonable price, if at all.

if the engine is reading around 168k, is it worth it to convert it?

Yeah its worth it but first you gotta do something with that engine first. Miles are too high to really mod it, either rebuild engine, find another KA with lower miles, or save up to get an SR.

finding another KA is a somewhat hard task, definitely if your low on cash, so i guess rebuilding or swapping would really be my only alternative huh? if i were to swap it now in its condition, whats the first most problem id run into?

welp i meant, that in the long run a swap would be a better alternative than a finding a new KA or rebuilding it, sorry haha, cause if thats the case, i should just run with the auto till i saved up enough for a swap and then do the convert

Finding a new KA would be much cheaper than rebuilding or swapping a SR in..

really? i searched alot through the net and i found more sources of getting a sr20 rather than a KA, well there are alot of Ka24e's but not many KA24DE, or when i do find one, its somewhat pricey...anyhow, has anyone had any complications from converting a auto to a 5spd?

How expensive? How much are you willing to put into the car cus if your not willing to put much into it don't expect to get alot back. You get what you put into it. An SR20 would run you alot more than a used KA. Send |2aine a private message I think he did a KA24E swap to a KA24DE, he should be able to help you out with this more than us.
