Do you know where in the VIN code for 240's it specifies which transmission type, auto or 5-speed? I tried searching the forums, but couldn't find anything.

I'm guessing that it should, but I'm not positive, and I don't know which number says it.

 

Well, after perusing the ********** FAQ, it seems that the VIN itself doesn't identify a LSD/non-LSD car. That may be true, because from what I understand, at least on S13's, the LSD was an option.

 

If you look on the vin plate and you look t the code above the vin code where it says blah blah blah S13. If an "A" follows the S13 it's an auto. If it's anything else it's manual.

 

I posted a thread about 5-speed versus automatic VIN codes, then proceeded to say something about LSD. I've been doing so much thinking about this car lately, I can't seem to keep my thoughts straight. Sorry 'bout that.
