The airbag light won't go off! At first it was a solid light then the dealer tried to fix it and now its blinking. He changed the airbag omputer but it didn't help. anything would help thanx alot

 

take a piece of electrical tape, and cover it up. ... acucally I have no clue.

 

Have the airbags been deployed? Taken out?

 

I don't realy know if it went off yet. I just got the car for two days from a dealership. the guy says that its in there but I cant tell you for sure if its in there because i dont know how to check the airbag. at first the light was a solid light but ever since he tried to fix the light with the airbag cpu it started blinking. thanx for your help

 

Only thing I can think of is to take out the bulb.

 

is there a way to check if the airbag is there first? Cuz that guy couldve been shady and took out the airbag because airbag could be sold for alot of money. and another thing you think you could help me out with the radio? only the rear speakers work and the front don't I checked the amps in back under the rear speakers and all the wires look ok but i haven't checked the back of the fron speakers yet

 

When I first got my 240 I had the same problem with the airbag light. It was always lit up, but when I ordered a new CPU it went off... So it seems like yours should have gone off if it was done right. I would see if you could get another place just to check it out... And for your speakers it sounds like one of the amps might have blown out

 

Have you checked the SRS fuse?

Nah, but it's basically telling you that there is something worth noting with your airbag system. As mentioned before it has either been taken out or has been deployed and you just don't know about it.

I, personally, would take it to a Nissan dealership and let them look at it. If you still have your airbag and it is primed and ready to fire, then you are good and it's just a problem with your ECU. If that's the case, then while you're there, you can have Nissan "reset" your ECU for a very small fee.

It could also be the SRS fuse, although my 240sx doesn't come with airbags so I wouldn't know whether it's a batt fuse located at the kick panel or a mech fuse located under the hood. My Cavalier has airbags and it has a fuse labled "Air Bag" under the hood, if that's pulled then the Air Bags won't deploy ever and the light will remain on. Also, there is an "Air Bag" fuse in the kick panel which essentially does the same thing, but it's just accessable from inside the vehicle.

The guy I bought it from change d it with two different airbag ecu's that he got off ebay. he did the reset thing on the door but it only made it blink. How much would it be to fix it at the nissan dealership? and thanx for all the input
how many rows does the fuse box have cuz mine has three is that suppose to be like that. the one all the way to the right is missing when the cover shows four rows

yea it was my fault cuz wen i pressed submit reply my comp froze and i didnt know it went thru then i pressed it again and it showed up and then i didnt wat to do. but how many rows does the fuse box have? my cover shows four but in the box only has three rows

 

Go back to that dealer and MAKE him fix it.

Here in california, a DEALER cannot sell a car with a faulty air bag system.

A airbag light means your airbag WONT work! Check the laws. If applicable, go after his ***.

 

man! i was stupid enough to go all the way out to new hampshire for it. they dont have any type of lemon law out there and the paperwork says that it has no warranty at all on the car and everything else. so is there anything i can do?

 

and for my question about the fuses. how many rows of it does it have? cuz mine has three but the cover shows four.
