Will an alternator from an SOHC work on a DOHC?

i know that the parts store list 2 different part numbers for the alternators... that might have to do with the amprage rating of them or it might be that they are different... idont know for sure but i do know they are listed as 2 diferent part numbers...

as i said i dont know if they have the same plugs or not i just know they are listed as 2 different part numbers... the best way to check is to check to see if the plugs are the same... for one reason or another you are looking at the sohc alternator... if you have one already,,, pull the plug off of the dohc alternator and see if it will plug in... if it plugs in then i would say it should work... i have never tried to swap em so i dont know for sure...

what's the price on alternators? I gotta get mine checked to see if it actually is the alternator that's wrong with my car.
Car died on the freeway, power just shut off. Anything else that can cause that?

Well I got Autozone to check my battery and alternator and they said everything is good . So any ideas why my battery and brake dummy lights are coming on together ?
