altima or taurus?

a lot of people run altima dual-electric or taurus single-electric fans in their cars to gain back some power that the pulley fan takes away. My question is which of the two set-ups you guys would recommend. i found both at the junkyard and the guy wants the same for both, but i heard that the taurus fan is quieter and i would rather go that route so i would only deal with wiring one large fan instead of 2 smaller ones.

dunno much about wiring or fans, but i'd guess that the nissan one would wire easier. electricity is electricity, but im guessing that a nissan wiring harness would accomodate a nissan addition better than a ford.

With 2 fans you are given more options. Such as using one for AC relay or being able to sufficiently cool the entire radiator with the entire surface area of the radiator core.
In this case 2 is better than one.
Read up on the link to my last post in this thread it shows pretty good test results in efficiency using the altima fans. Testing proved that the Altima fans outflow the FLEX A LITES. The perma cool single fan was the worst rated you can compare that to a taurus fan..

P.S don't be a dummy either you need a thermostatic switch to properly regulate and control the electric fan. If you don't use a thermostatic switch you can just throw your A/F ratio's out the window and waste a crap load of gas...

everyone i know with e fans has overheating issues, and or wiring issues with the fans. the clutch fan is very efficient.

Sounds like your friends don't use a thermostatic switch. The engine will act as if the engine is colder than it is from the thermostat readings at idle. This will cause a lean mixture at idle, since at higher tempratures the engine would normally run more fuel to cool the cylinder charge.
A decent switch cost $50 dollars, the switch I bought costed $80 and I bought it to fine tune temprature adjustments.

I'm not saying to go out and buy an expensive switch, but I have seen to many fan install articles in other forums where there is no discussion on the thrmostatic switch. The switch is the most important part of the e fan install.

^^^ yes i have a thermostat switch and was running 2 fans that i got for free out of the junkyard. one fan took a shiet and i was scared to run with just one fan working, even tho it never even got hotter than usual. i want to get rid of my clutch fan (again) and have heard a lot of things about the altima fans; besides im nowhere near being a n00b and its pretty lame to still have a clutch fan when i have gone as far as gutting the interior of my car and removed all emisions.
- i know how to properly wire the fans and was just wondering how to spend my $40 at the junkyard, and i don't think i will regret freeing up a few more horsepower.

In that case just to let you know ALTIMA fans are the biggest bang for your buck, as long as you are using a good thermostatic switch. I use a flex a lite setup and was disapointed when the altima fans were more effecient for there value, do to increasing my lowend power below 3000RPM. I gained fractions of a second in the 1/4mile, E fans work, and clutch fans don't disengage till about 3000RPM so they eat up and consume power using inertia from the belt driven system that is a fact. For gaining 3lb/ft and 1 HP e fans are a deal. Not to metion using the right thermostatic switch it is MORE reliable.
