bad alternator?

well i think my alternator went bad. where what happened.
i drove like normal, stopped, parked. then tryed to start it 10 mins later. did not start make crazy clicking noise tryed to use a starter thing didnt work after about 15 mins had a truck jump me. started right up was driving home doing good didnt have a radio on or anything just my head lights. smelled something funny wasnt sure if it was my car or not so i turned on the heater to see if i could smell it still car died. car would not start back up at all. i assumed after 15 mins of high way driving should of charged the battery by then. so no luck. so we pushed it and jump started it. it ran like horrible ****, like there was no fuel by i had gas i couldnt turn on anything or it would die. got home and desided since its parked to **** around with it. turned on my head lights rpms dropped. hit my windows rpms dropped. hit both at the same time the car shut off and would not start up at all. so thats why i assume its the alternator.cause if the alternator was good it would have charged the battery

agree/disagree?

get a digital multimeter they sell them at auto zone start the car and test the battery terminals with the car running it should be at 13-14v if alternater is working.

A bad battery will cause the car to do the same thing. Try jumping the car and while it is running disconnect the positive terminal from the battery, if it stays on the alternator is good. Or you could always take the alternator out and have auto zone load test it for you.
