bad ground
I think that I have a bad ground somewhere but I don't know how to find it or where to start looking. I cleaned the battery terminals and I even cleaned where the negative battery cable grounds out on the engine. I've even replaced the cable. I pulled out my cd player and checked all the wires. Everything is fine there. I've replaced every fuze even though none were blown. I have no idea how to check a relay. I heard they were kind of expensive so I didn't want to just replace those. I looked in my engine bay and I could only find one wire that was grounded to the engine bay and it was a white wire near the air filter. I unscrewed it and cleaned it up and put it back. Nothing has changed. Every time I let my car sit for more than like 2-3 hours my battery gets drained. It's not so bad that I have to jump it or anything but like my radio and headlights wont come on untill I rev it for a minute.
I'm half tempted to say it's the relay. My cars timing went out and before I came to the conclusion it was my timing I drained the battery trying to figure out what was wrong. I had to jump it a few times and my friend was helping me and got the + and - ends of the jumper cables mixed up when he connected them to my car. It made some sparks but that was it. I didn't think anything of it at the time. I was just grateful the battery didn't explode. After I got the timing fixed is when I started having the problems so I got a new battery. I took the old one to advanced and they said the battery was bad and gave me a new one. I heard that some batteries are just bad and can't hold a charge.
If anyone can help I would really appreciate it.

I love Nissans... but I've had stuff that this happen with 240 and my maxima. Have you checked/replaced the positive battery cable to the alternator? Have you electrically tested the alty, also check the alty belt to see if it's worn out or loose. I ended up replacing all the cables, optima battery and new altenator for my zenki in the end. Mucho happier now.
check one at a time each item in your electrical path. start with the simple and work your way out. you said you checked the battery, so check the ground and positive wire. check the alternator and the wiring, then check relays, is everything eventually kicks in the relay should be fine. they either work or dont. if it is a relay they arent that expensive. if its just a couple select items that are wrong then check its stuff as in. check to see if those items are all fused and relayed together. check their wiring.
