i would defenetly recommend the "dry cell" (a.k.a. RedTop) battery. because its much better to have that one because it is obviously 'dry'.. which means no chemicals inside and lasts 5 times longer than regular batteries. i am not sure which company makes them.. but if you ask at any parts store (pepboys, or napa) they should have it. or atleast tell you where to get it.

why in the world would you want a dry cell battery in the trunk?
- well because it will get really hot in the trunk sometimes, and the regular type of batteries will produce, or have a leak of chemicals. you dont want those chemicals around. trust me.

the price for those kinds of batteries is like from $100 to $130. but highly recommended. good luck.

Optima's are usually heavy, he asked for a light weight one.

correct me if I'm wrong, but if you go with a lightweight/slim battery because of a swap, wouldn't that negate the idea of putting the battery in the trunk? All the swaps I've seen using a thin battery have them up front under the hood.

if relocating to the trunk the extra weight is usually beneficial in road racing at least for balance.

most people would never want to run a 'race' battery and many racer's would rather a more complete battery as well, but are limited by relocation and need for a fuel shut off limiting their desires.

'dry' cell is an uncommon term...you are looking for a gel cell battery. It's hard to beat optima across the board in their known niche market.

My plan is the smallest Optima I can get away with in my trunk...
