I had to run intercooler piping so I had to relocate my battery. As soon as I relocated the battery to the trunk, whenever i turn on headlight or electric fan, my engine's rpm goes down and about to stall. Should I run some sort of circuit breaker instead of just hooking battery wire? Let me know what people has done or know about this problem. Thanks

 

What size wire? Also, be sure to use an AGM battery as opposed to a lead acid batt. And be sure to have sufficient ground.

 

also make sure your ground is tight and its grounded at a good spot

 

yeah make sure the size of the wire is big enough, i've got some pretty fat battery wires and mine is located in the hatch of my car! i have no problems

 

what other aux are you running also. if you don't have some crazy sound system you don't need to add an secondary 170amp fuse in there. you still are utilizing your stock breaker.

Im running double insulated 4guage cable. it was no need for 0 guage etc becuase i am running basic electronics. my cranking amps are good and i am actually running better constant voltage with my fan and lights on. make sure you add a 40amp relay to your electric fan circuit

 

I am running Optima Battery (Red) with 2 gauge wire from trunk. I sanded down the paint where ground is located so I think ground is pretty good. I have electrical fan, MP3 player, SAFC, for electric component, nothing with crazy sound system but I didnt do anything with electrical circuit like 40amp or anything. So I should change to 40amp inside the fusebox for fan circuit??

 

yea you can add an relay to your fan ( if you are not utilizing the stock fan relay). fans take a bit of power when they are spinning. the relay sorta alternates the power very fast so that its not a constant drain. before i installed mine, i was getting about 13.4 Volts when i cut my lights on with the fan. now im getting 14.1 with lights off and 13.8 with everything on including heat. you can buy the relays at radio shack. ill post a picture of where mine is mounted etc later.

as far as installation its very very simple just read the diagram on the back and you will need one small spool of electrical wire, wire loom to protect it and some female clips.


many people don't run them, ,, its not reallllllly needed, but it helps preserve more power for your spark which is always a good thing lol
