Best Way to Get 300whp+ on a 240sx shell
This may have been posted before but I'm new and I searched and couldn't find anything.
Basically, I will likely be using the sr20det engine, but I am still considering the rb20det and rb25det engines. I was wondering if people who have 300+ hp on there 240's could tell me what they have done.
I know that the rb25det engine costs a lot more than both other engines, and cost IS an issue here, I'm definately willing to spend about 4 grand under the hood, maybe a little more.
If I go with the rb25 engine will I have to invest quite a bit more money to increase it to 300 or are the mods fairly simple?
If Im going to go with the sr20 or rb20, will i need a bigger turbo set up to pull 300hp at the wheels?
Basically just looking for some pointers with this one, and looking for the cheapest easiest way to pull 300+ hp to the wheels.

For 300 hp sr20:
Sr20motor
T28 BB Turbo
FMIC
Metal Headgasket
550cc Injectors
Piggyback Fuel System
BOV
3in. Turbo back Exhaust
Boost Controller
Z32 Fuel Filter
Walbro 255 Fuel Pump
Tuning
On about 16-17psi you should be right around 300hp, of course using a better turbo will be a lot easier but im trying to keep this cost effective..
Other Recommendations:
Good Clutch
Better Wastegate
Mandrel Exaust Manifold
Z32 Maf
LSD
As for the KA, Spence will chime in soon lol

yea stock is t25, t28 is good for a couple more psi and its ball bearing so it spools better...yes i do not recommend running a t25 past 14ish psi..i did run above that and it did hold the boost, but i did blow the turbo..yes i knew it was going to happen..i needed a reason to upgrade

of the 3, obviously the S15 T28 was best due to its sizing trim and ball bearings. Its an awesome turbo for a mildly agressive set-up.
(teh hot bagger's turbo was spitting oil like a camel boosting at 14lbs)

only the bb s15 turbo is going to get you to 300hp reliably. personally i would just get an ls1 if you want that much power reliably. lighter than a ka and 350hp n/a easily. 400hp with some cams and full exhaust. if you want a 4 cyl or an rb i would suggest a build or atleast rebuild for that kind of power. It's not going to be able to be done on a tight budget, i think you need to reconsider. but out of the choices ls1 seems the most logical

You sure the s14 was ball bearing too? The almighty wikipedia begs to differ
