blew my exhaust manifold gasket

blew my exhaust manifold gasket

yea some how its gone bad, i had a OEM s15 copper exhaust manifold gasket and it was only a couple months old and now i got a leak from the gasket. dont know how it happened but i was thinking of getting a cometic exhaust gasket looks good but anyone have any experience with them?

I would have the clearances checked on that first. Exactly how did the gasket blow? Are you sure a stud or two didn't just back out a bit?

tell you the truth i never checked the stud lol. might be what it is but i noticed cause i started smelling somthing funny then i sprayed carb cleaner into my IAC valve to clean it out and ungunk it and all the unburnt carb cleaner that passes through the motor was dripping from the gasket.

its your studs... trust me battorious

if they are loose it will create a problem. Hot gasses that are suppose to go into the manifold tubes just run off onto the gasket.... if its one of those... shinny peices of sheit... they will melt.
