Blown engine

My nissan 240sx has a blown engine. I was wondering what the best idea is for it whether to junk it or put a new engine into it. The only other major problem with it is the cadalic converter. Any suggestions?

I really hope you are kidding. You can get a KA24DE for around $500 if you know where to look, a KA24E is even cheaper. Catylitic converters are nothing to worry about either, you can get a high flow cat for around $100 or look around for a stock one.

I see your point but the cost of putting a new engine would be at least 1000 dollars . With 1600 dollars would i be better off getting a different car?

ok well u said 1600 for a new car i highly doubt u can get a good car for that much u can find a ka24de with lower miles for 500 like kerosinek said and the low milage probably beats any car ur going to get for 1600

yeah man..site motors from ebay if you have too. It would be well worth putting a new motor in rather then junking it. What would you buy with 1600?...a civic? 240>Civic LOL

well, considering the fact that you implied not being able to do a simple engine swap. maybe buying a new car would be a better option for you...

if you really like the car i'd say just get a new engine and keep it. but if this cars just your daily beater and you dont really care about it, get something else. probably would be easier for you.
