Brake light indicator

I've searched about this, and realized that it could be a couple of problems. My brake light indicator on the dash will not go off. I already checked the fluid, it's fine. We had to fill it up a month ago. I saw some comments about some little spring in the E-brake that might have popped off and causing the light to stay on? My question is, and yes this will make me sound stupid, but where is that spring located exactly?

I hope that's the reason why it won't turn off. It's been like that for a week now, but my brakes are fine. I'm hoping it's not a leak. I haven't detected one yet. But, when I was getting an oil change a couple weeks ago.. Nissan mentioned my power steering hose was leaking. I know the power steering thing would have nothing to do with my brakes. But, if that's leaking.. who knows what else is leaking?

I just want to try the easiest thing first.. fix that up. If there is still a problem, then I guess someone can crawl up there and find out.

Actually, I just found out yesterday that I was leaking brake fluid.

When I stepped on the brake to put my car in reverse, I found it odd that my brake pedal with nice and soft. If that's even the right way to explain it. It just went to the floor very easily. So, I popped the hood and realized there was like NO brake fluid. We had just refilled it three months ago. I should have taken that indication as a warning to begin with.

It's causing such a huge headache. It really sucks. My poor car needs to get fixed in a hurry.
