Brights Don't Work

I know this is kinda random but my passenger side bright doesnt work, the low work but the bright doesnt i replaced both headlights and the one bright still doesnt work any ideas

thanks

Start by seeing if the high beams are getting power on that side.

my_kinda_livin 10-02-2007 10:31 PM

thats weird, my passenger side low doesnt work, but normal and high work lol not like i use the lowest anyways, but yeah...id like to know what this could be as well

crazydrifter 10-03-2007 10:29 AM

how would i check if it is getting power or not

splay 10-03-2007 10:38 AM

you can also try cleaning the contacts in the plug that is one of the biggest reasons for this type of issue ive seen and make sure the plug is secure

it could just be the switch. same thing happened to me, first the passenger bright went out, then the driver's side went out. its really easy to install a new headlight switch, but really expensive ($80)!!

Just get a test light and the FSM and find which wire is for the brights, see if it is getting power. My kinda livin, what do you mean low, medium, and high beam?

Cliff2286 10-26-2007 08:12 PM

hi, new to club240, but 240 lover none the less. my passenger side high beam doesn't work either. i went to get my inspecton done and they replaced my headlight and gave me the inspection and it still doesn't work. i don't know why either. i'll worry about next year when inspection comes up again. ha ha.

check connections while your checking for POWER on that side. also check relays

crazydrifter 10-27-2007 09:12 AM

i just said screw it never use the brights anyway

k_wakasugi 10-27-2007 03:02 PM

acfalconhawk, where is the headlight switch ? neither of my brights work =P.

acfalconhawk 10-29-2007 08:35 AM

the headlight switch is the combination light/turn signal switch mounted on the column. 4 screws to take off the plastic column cover, 2 screws hold in the headlight switch, and iirc 2 wire connections. its really easy to do. 2 or 3 minutes.

hmm... $80 ey? what are the odds of finding a working switch in a junkyard ?

:D :D :D

maybe?? no..?

:sad2:

acfalconhawk 11-09-2007 07:28 PM

hit or miss, you never know if junkyard electronics are any good. only thing i could say is to take a voltmeter and test the connections. gL!!
