Buying a damaged 240

A few months back there was a damaged kouki for sale for 3,000... it needed a new headlight, hood, and fender

It was sold, but i shoulda looked into it more... Has anyoen done this? Bought it and repaired the broken stuff. I'd have it checked out by a mechanic and make sure the frame is straight but i think it could be a great deal

Sounds good... i'd probably just buy all the new parts on ebay or a junkyard. Slidin, i might have to take you up on that

There was this salvage title Supra on ebay... was the nicest supra i have EVER seen, the guy bought it as a pos and 'restored' it

WERD stay away from salvaged titles. Otherwise, what you think of doing is common - it's called restoration (although not so much of an old car)

I think its a great idea as long as the damage is purely cosmetic. As soon as you start dealing with more severe damage it becomes less of a good option financially.

I too was recently considering buying an s14 for around 3k that was in great shape aside from needing new bumper and hood and fenders. I ended up not going for it, but I was very tempted.

Where was this car located? I just might have been the person who bought it...
I found a car on auto trader a month back that was a 95 240 SE, with perfect leather, no sunroof, hotshot headers, fell aftermarket exhaust, and 90,000 miles. Bought it for 3,000. It had some front end damage; the owner said he ran into a guard rail. The damage was very minimal; the passenger fender was messed up the hood and headlight. It wasn't reported, so it has a clear title. I had been looking for a car for about 3 months and couldn’t pass it up. I am in the middle of converting it to an S15 front end as soon as the parts arrive.
