A/C Question

Alright, my friend has an '87 200sx which he does all engine work himself. He recently removed his airconditioning and he claims that the engine is able to breathe a lot better. Since I never, ever, use my aircondition does anyone know if it is a good idea to do so?

Keep in mind when you turn on the defog/defrost setting of the ventilation system the AC cools the air to dehumidify it. That dry air is what absorbs the fog on the windshield. I dont know whereabouts you live (if your in Arizona ya can ignore me), but the minute it rains my windows fog up. No AC = no defog = pull over and wipe down the windows with sleeve. Its even worse in winter when the window frosts up. Ya might wanna consider underdrive pulleys, just in case you still need AC.
