Cam Angle Sensor. Quick help please!

I just bought a 96 240 sx se 5spd.

It had a check engine light, and threw a "cam angle sensor, Bank A" code. I researched the price, and i can get the sensor for 50 bucks through autozone.

Can anyone tell/show me where this sensor is so i can replace it??

Will it do any damage to drive long distances with this sensor bad? I had no choice but to drive the car 1700 miles home with the bad sensor. My motor should be fine right? It sounded and ran smooth.

thanks a lot guys

The camshaft sensor is in the distributor on our cars.

Your motor should be just fine.

Wonderfull. I guess that would explain why i can't find the damn thing!!! Thanks devnull!

Anyone know if JUST that part can be replaced, or if the entire distributor's got to go?

Also, there are two plugs going to the distributor. A large one with a bunch of wires, and a small one with two wires. Does anyone know what the two wire plug is for????
