can a 240sx drag?

I live in San Diego, United States of America. Down here, we have a program called Street Legal (streetlegal.com) which provides a safe and fun environment for drag racing to keep it off the streets.
I've seen so many cars ever since i started going about 10 months ago. However, i've never ever never eva eva neva seen a 240sx. I mean, i saw a turbocharged minivan and a supercharged saturn, but why not a 240sx?
is it more of a drift car than a drag car?

Not in the least bit. Its just that MOST people who have 240's are more interested in drifting, and 240's are good cars for drifting. (not to mention a lot of people jump on the whole "omg I'm getting a 240 to drift" bandwagon) My 240's gonna be mainly street/strip because I'm not into drifting all that much, I love drag racing. I've only seen 1 240 at the dragstrip, it was pretty quick though. Looked completely stock, but ran a mid 11, pretty surprising lol.

yep. I second that

My 240 is gonna be mostly DD/street, cuz theres no tracks around here to drift... or roads worthy of drifting... louisiana has ****ty roads. Im gonna take it to the local strip every once in a while

I actually think 240's are one of the better cars you can drag race, for a number of reasons. A)They're pretty lightweight B)They're RWD, and C)They have a lot of power potential on the stock motor, and have a lot of aftermarket support.

You'd see me down there at the Q if I wasn't Persona Non Grata...

Here's a shot from the IDRC race at Palmdale last month where I won the slow bracket class.

Check out the links in my sig if you want to see more.

Why don't we see more 240's draggin?
Pretty sure enjuku drag car is sr powered.
240's make very good g's (grip) on launch, I think I saw an article that compared the 240's grip to a viper (in sport compact car).
I think a turbo ka or nitrous + ka would probably be the best option in a 240 drag car for the torque.

I drag my 240 at the local 1/8th mile track. With a mostly stock sr, lsd, 15psi, and won the "super tuner" class both times I went.
