Chain Rattle

Sup i just recently swaped a KAde into my car. a little after driving it i hear the dreaded chain rattle.

i already read the timing chain guide a while back.

after removing the guides has anyone had any very bad experiences

weren't they put there for a reason? I know nissan RECOMENDS removing the top one.......but why DONT they recomend removing the others?

HMMMM. I need to do this asap too, but i don't know about removing anything other than the top....

any recomendations/ideas???

People have removed all of them without issue. Now, If I were to build a high HP KA, I would probably put them back in for reassurance.

well wouldnt' the chain be more loose if the guides are remove???

the upper timing chain is a little loose but it is not loose enough to jump a tooth or anything... i tried to get mine to jump time with a 24 mm socket and a 1 inch wrench... it would not even budge... if you have done a timing chain replacement or a rebuild on these motors you will see that the chain is not loose enough to harm anything... thats how i found out...

Yea it really isn't. But when I start seriously modifying my motor, I am gonna put em back in. Just for peace of mind...

i bought a new set for my motor that should be back together and running this week... i am going to keep an eye on them just in case... at the first sign of noise they are comming back ot again...
