Clicking noise

I notice a week or so ago that when my car hasnt been running for a while that it has a clicking noise coming from what sounds like the motor. Its a Blacktop sr20det. After my car has been idleing for maybe 1 minute it goes away. Any ideas on what it might be? Sound kinda sounds like its coming from the head.

yea sounds like lifters to me also. you may want to check you oil pressure. consult with your SR manual, it will tell you what range you have to be in etc.

it shouldn't affect anything but since the ka is an interference engine (i think) if the lifters stick and are not compressed you could bend a valve.

it is probably your lifters as mentioned, basically when you let your car sit for an extended period of time they flatten out, sag, a tiny bit. once the car/oil is warmed up the sound should go away.

sag?

don't you mean that the lifters don't retain the oil anymore hence the tapping?
