Clutch ¿ ?

So I finally have my 5 speed swap coming, THANK GOD. I'm getting the flywheel resurfaced because I found out a lightened one was $330! which is insane, however need a new clutch was well. I cannot afford a ACT Stage 2, so was looking for something a hair better than stock. I was referred to Exedy, however have not heard of them. I found a couple people with their clutches and asked, and got mixed reviews. I want to know if anyone here has some experience with them and some helpful opinion on them or anyone else in the 150-225 range for a full clutch kit.

Thanks in advance!

IMO if your using it for street stay away from the "stage 327" or the "super duper racing special stage 70", My friend put a three puck racing clutch on his SR and has to concentrate just to get the damn thing moving. Some of the raced out clutches are just too stiff and should be saved for race cars. but you prob already know that. i'll stop rambeling now.

Doc I say save a bit more for the stage 2... patience over compromise!

that way once your tranny is installed, you don't have to worry about it for awhile

have to concentrate jes a bit more than a stock but you'll get used to it.. i know i did

lol, I love it when people say "Just go out and spend $250 instead of $125", when I have to not go out and eat out for 2 weeks so I can afford the $125 one, no way I can afford the $250 one. Between college(a lot), buying the crx(1700), doing a full tune-up on her and bondoing and fixing all the rust(200), a 5 speed swap for the 240 (total ~ 600), and buying a spare engine to rebuild (150) and christmas, i'm just flat broke, I know some people can relate to that! heh.

I bought an exedy clutch, got some good reviews, I'll post this spring how good/bad it is when I do the swap.

With all that doc, I'd still wait out the extra "2 weeks" to get something I know will be good. It's not like I'm telling you to starve to death etc... but w/e you got the Exedy anyways, so GL with it.
Maybe you'd have the extra $125 if you hadn't bought the Honda? Anyhow, this guy at work has an Exedy in his RSX and he let me try his car out. To me it feels like OEM but grabs slightly better than OEM, he said the install was simple but the instructions are vague or something.

lol, I got mine for $95 shipped off ebay, thank god for ebay!

I would have the money if I had not bought the crx but then i'd be putting my 240 through all this snow here and salt and abuse, which i can't do, lol. My 240's never seen snow before, heh. I want to keep it that way.

good pic stanbo, thats how i'm hoping to look this summer.

OEM Exedy is fine. Not as fun as the Spec II. But then again I don't have to engage the clutch at a high rpm like the SpecII.

I still wish I had the SPEC but I found out why it blew up in my tranny.

THat will be fixed when this motor blows up. If it ever does.....

lo, the way you drive i'm amazed it hasn't! You're proof how strong the KA is!
I'm gonna check out the site and see if I can hit up the people from NH, i'm interested in coming down a few times this summer. All people here do is the 1/4 mile, and I keep telling people my car is meant for going sideways, not a straight line, heh.

I heard those clutch's are insane, people on NICO i've talked to say they peel out going from a stop when uphill because they are so crazy, but absolutly love them, wish I could afford one!

250hp would be nice! I just want to rebuild my KA and upgrade ~180rwhp.

Well with that clutch, the kazama motor mounts, uras tranny mount, ats 2 way, Silkroad coilovers and b&M shifter it should be an interesting launch.
