A couple of ?????

Alright 1st. I have a 92 auto 240. I'm deciding about swapping to a manual. My Questions are.

1. With the nee 3F3F comming out. I'm assuming a manual 240 will be wanted alot more then a auto 240 and their for a manual having a higher selling rate. Do you think it's true? My thought are with tat movie comming out about drifting the 240 market will increase a bit. They will be the new civic.

2. About how hard and how long does it take to do this. I've searched around and only found a few things. I have a 67 mustang i pulled the engine on, and dropped back in after some work so i'm not completly car stupid. But what do you guys think.

3. If i get just the Trans, about how much will it cost if i buy everything else either used or off ebay? ( estimate)

THanks for any answers

1. I got into the 240 love about four years ago and I did notice a slight jump in prices/popularity of them when drifting made it big stateside a few years back.

I personally don't think they'll make it as big as the civic due to the kids wanting the new eclipses, civics, etc.

2. It just depends if you have a place to do it with the right tools. Call up your dad/family/friend and ask them to 'oversee' the swap.

3. Last year I got a tranny and everything needed for about $500. It just varies where and who you get it from.

I'd also like to note that the market just depends on whether or not the owner of the 240 that is selling it knows about the silvia 'craze' and how much they want to charge. There is always going to be that 30 year old guy that is just trying to get rid of it.

yeah i agree.
Thanks for the answers.

I'm not saying it's going to go crazi with the new movie, but all the wanna be ricers are going to want one thats modified and ur going to see them alot more. It's going to be possibly the "new" civic. It's going to turn into rice. But it's just my opinion.

I found a tranny for 190 shipped to my house. So i was trying to figure out how much morei would need to complete everythign.

I already got most the tools i need excpet a torque wrench.

Also on the kids wanting the new eclipses and stuff, i'm talking about the 16-22 year old who want a " JDM" tyte car and will do wat it takes and spend money on stupid **** lol

When it comes to anything about your car stay away from eBay. Save up for another month or so and get something with backed quality.

List of things you'll need:
-5 speed transmission
-5 speed transmission crossmember
-5 speed Drive Shaft
-Flywheel
-Clutch and pressure plate
-Clutch Master Cylinder
-Clutch Slave Cylinder
-Clutch Pedal
-Brake Pedal
-Clutch hard line (unless you FEEL like fabricating hydrolic lines)

and i ave an s13, wat trannys will fit with my car. I'm assuming it's probably easiest to get a s13 tranny, because isn't the wiring on the s14 different?
