hey guys, i know this is probably a simple question, but whatever......why is it that a car with a modded exhaust sometimes makes crackling noises during decelleration...does it have something to do with running too rich/lean?

any help would be great...thx

HAHA....well...yea ik....i dont even own a car....but i just wanna know what causes it to happen...lol

i'm a technical person and i like to know why **** does ****

and, frankly, when an integra with obvious exhaust modifications passed me and my friends at the movie theater, im the only car person...and the thing made a crackling noise...he was like "why does the car crackle like that???" and i played it off cool like "you wouldn't understand anyways...so why try...." which is what i normally do even when i know the answer...

though i did write a 1 page essay about how NAWWWWS works to one of my friends...lol, ramble ramble ramble off topic ramble

 

I thought it was just caused by backpressure/compression... at least thats what my dad always told me i never really cared and still don't
