critique this s14 i might buy

helping a friend buy a car, hes looking for a 240 (95-96 preferably) and i found this one. whats everyone think of it?

blue book value on it is 3-3500, hes asking 4500 obo.

(from the listing)
145,XXX miles
5spd
concorde grey
all se options except 5lug/abs/lsd, spoiler, white face gauges, fog lights
very clean, of course some few dents and such
PERFECT COMPRESSION, 180 across all 4, ill do another test soon

maintanance:
fresh fluids: royal purple gear oil, new coolant/antifreeze, mobil 1 or royal purple oil.
new water pump, belts. brakes (master cylinder, calipers, pads, and rotors) put on right before i bought it, so a little over maybe 10k miles on that. also, fuel system was cleaned sometime before i bought it. removed the top timing chain guide.

mods:
megan racing street coilovers (not even a month old), 6 puck clutch (not on the car but will be included), ebay short shifter (hey it works), apexi n1 turbo 3" exhaust, s13 se wheels, kenwood head unit, 2 alpine type r 6 1/2" speakers.

and here's some pics http://s54.photobucket.com/albums/g113/lsnaple/

some other notes:
needs new tires, clutch is on its last leg- "about a month left", paint is good overall but clearcoat is peeling in a small area behind the back glass, rear speakers dont work, fuel gauge doesnt work. he wants to sell because hes had 2 other 240s and he's wanting a change.

whats some questions i should ask him? what do i look for if i go check it out?
i thought i'd let yall check it out and see what you think since i'm new to the 240 world and yall are the experts.
thanks

Honestly, I would steer clear of pre-tuned cars (things tend to go wrong) also an ebay short shifter kit will shorten the life of the tranny.

"all se options except 5lug/abs/lsd, spoiler, white face gauges, fog lights"

that "except" is confusing me... if it is SE it should at least have a spoiler and white face guages and 5 lug (I think - not too sure about zenkis)

Clutch going might make me tend to think he abused the car a little (although it might just be from wear and tear if he has never replaced it before)

Also 4500 is a bit much for a zenki IMO. especially since it's been modded.

how does a short shifter shorten the life of the transmission?

he said that they car is still on the stock clutch. i think the 6-puck hes included will be a little harsh so i'm gonna try to sell that and get a stage 1 or oem clutch.

......uhh..... yeah that "all se options except 5lug/abs/lsd, spoiler, white face gauges, fog lights" is confusing me. I think he said that to make the car sound better, because what does that leave that is SE, plus, it looks like it has hubcaps on one side and old school se rims on the other side. haha, not even 95-98 SE wheels.

looks like a base with a few checks on the options list. but yeah, you can bet the car has been pushed.

ok, nevermind. I do have a car for sale, but it's located in MA. and I'm sure you'll be able to find your buddy a better deal somewhere closer.

Yeah, I would pass this one up. There are a good number of 240s in NC, I'm sure you will find one. If not, I will sell you mine for $64,000

where?! just tonight i searched through autotrader, ebay motors, cars.com, iwanna in all cities in my region, autotrader magazine for my region, and went through all the pages on the for sale forum going back to 60 days old. the results: 1 match, and its in georgia and priced a little high.

these cars are tough to find, which makes this one that i'm considering much more appealing.
