Custom vs. Catback exhaust?

Hey guys, did some search but no specific topic really covered this. Just wish to know will both perform the same? Lets say i have a HKS muffler and i did custom piping how will this compare to the HKS catback or any other manufacture used? Is it just a price difference, quality or etc.... WIll the performance be equal among both? Another question is what if i was to take a catback from a car and make it custom fit on a different car? Will the performance and function still be the same if i was to replicated exactly the same as the company had offered it for that car? Lastly does the bend really matter or is it just for airflow and sound? Are you guys following? Let me know cheers

Most cat backs are Mendrell bent, where as your custom exhaust more then likely would be crush bent. If you can find a shop that can fabricate a mendrill bent cat back out of stainless steal you'ed have the same thing.. most exhaust shops use regular steal that can rust, and they usely crush bend their pipes.... Crush bent pipes don't have the same flow as mendrell bent ones, also a sound difference..

I don't know, there some differnt parts for the coupe and fast back, maybe their system is setup that way so it only can pull up the right parts... The exhaust is the same though . there is no differnece of the undercarage of the S13s

Yo I just got my Blitz universal exhaust put on with piping from a exhaust shop. It's a lot faster at the low end, it screams to 100 pretty quickly now. It also go's through the rpm's quicker. It's also loud as sh_t though! I'm thinking 'bout getting a silencer. I'm getting use to it slowly.
