Differences between SE & LE

I tried doing a search, but obviously can't search for "LE". Does anyone know what the differences are between the '97 S14 SE & LE models?

Well, one of them is the expensive model and the other one is cheap. Like one of them comes with the electronic speed dysplay, heads up dysplay, power everything, real seats ( not bucket) ( i couldn't find another definition) and all sorts of other gizmos. You can go on www.edmunds.com and choose the model and see what it comes with and what is missing

actually for the 1997, I dont recall any of them having the electronic speed display or the hud. The s14 SE is the sports package, 5 lug wheels and all, LE has leather, 4 lug wheels, dunno any other diff off the top of my head

Thanks for the info. ArticDragon, those specs don't show info on the LE. The LE must have come out later in 1997. I saw a 1997 LE for sale and it had 5 lug wheels, leather and a sunroof. That's the only difference I could visually see. I was just wondering if you knew of anything else that was different. the seats looked the same. I didn't notice HUD, but I do know that was available for some years.

CHeck link again. I posted 98 specs. That shows the LE. However, these are US specs. I dunno about Canadian specs. BTW, HUD was only available in SE S13 coupes.

base is the "Cheap one" se and le are basically the same. there is no reason not to jump on either one if you get the chance to buy... as long as its 5spd

I know a guy who has an s14 it's an SE it has 4 lug wheels, I have a pic on my other comp of a s14a that has 5 lug and i'm pretty sure it says SE on the back. I'll check and post it in a few.

EDIT: it does say SE on the back so now what the hell makes an s14 or s14a a LE?

Maybe he added the emblem? Check the model ID number and check the numbers using Raines guide that stickied on this forum. BTW, what makes a 240 an LE is it's leather interior. If it has leather, it's LE unless the seats have been swapped in.

that's dumb that just by adding leather it becomes an LE... stupid designers are like "we have to have more than one model so we sound more expensive"

ArticDragon is right. I checked a few other sources Intellichoice, MSN Autos, etc and it looks like the LE was introduced later in 1997 and Leather and sunroof were standard (not optional like in the SE). Other than that, they are basically identical. I know, that is stupid, but I guess it was for those people that HAD to have the "luxury edition". I'm in Florida, not Canada. There was an ad in the AutoTrader for a 5 Speed '97 LE for $5400. I'm trying to get more info, but have not heard back from the seller. Thanks for all the help. Hopefully I'll be driving a S14 soon.
