Discovered why my brakes were ****
The brakes on my 240sx were pretty much **** when I bought the car. Installed new pads in the rear about 2 months ago after the old pads were pretty much down to the shim (my fault for letting it get to that point to begin with).
I got real ****ty pedal feel even after I bled the brakes and heard a grinding sound in the rear passenger brake area and figured that since the rotor wasn't turned that the rotor was eating through the pad like there was no tomorrow.
I purchased brand new rotors and pads for all 4 corners today and went about to replacing my brakes after work.
I got the passenger-side rear expecting to see an uneven rotor with a chewed up pad. Pics of what I found after taking off the wheel, keep in mind, I run steelies:
One of the sliding pins for the rear floating caliper was seized and caused only one side of caliper to be compressing... eventually busting the face of the rotor off the hub of the rotor.
First time for everything eh?

Had a some-what same experience with my blazer. When I pulled the drum off of the truck the shoes basically fell off the truck, no springs to be found at all... Not to mention the brace bar for the center was ground down 3" on both sides to almost nothing... It was a tiny stub laying inside the drum...

I had steelies on the car and couldn't see the rotor's condition without having to peek through the tiny *** holes. While I was driving it sounded like a pad shim rubbing into the rotor. When I took the wheel off I was thanking God for sparing my life.
I swapped out the caliper and have new rotors and pads all around... I can finally stop my car now.
