distributor o-ring?
distributor o-ring?
Hey all,
I need some help here.
Just did a new timing chain install
got it all put back together,
but now it won't start.
Don't think it's getting spark,
So I pulled the distributor and
realised I didn't install the o-ring(s)
for it.
It's a ka24e SOHC for a 1990 240.
the dealership seems to have givin me
two o-rings, one off center and one
smaller one.
I can't figure out how they are supposed to
go on.
Do they mount to the cap, or the rotor, do I need
both or just one? Is there a third piece that I am
missing or somthing?
I checked the Chilton, and it was it's usual helpful
self: "When your distributor is imperfect- life is difficult"
Anyone know the answer to this one?

if it worked before, and now it doesnt, then its the timing!! Distributor/shaft/oil pump. I had this problem and I tried to solve it myself before.
The chiltons I have gave me the wrong timing on the spark plug firing order.
This is something that you might have to take to a shop to have done IMO. I couldnt' figure it out. thats what I did.
