i have hicas on mine and i always thought it was something that helps but supposively its heavy and unpredictable. i was hoping to disable it but i dont see it taking out that much weight.
Well the HICAS will help make your slalom tighter and if you ever just want to put your car into a tight parking spot, it'll help there as well. My old RX7 had DTSS which is just Mazda's RWS system. It helped that car maneuver like nothing else and I thought it was one of the best things in the world when it came to autocross and simply trouncing around town.
However, when it came to drifting it did add a lot of instability to a seemingly stable car, I didn't eliminate the DTSS, I just simply didn't drift my RX7! LOL!

i think the hicas does not turn the wheels unless you are going over 20 mph. that would not help with parking. In the manual, it says that the hicas light being on means that it is dysfunctional and is currently using normal 2 wheel steering.
This was just discussed.
