Does LSD make a huge dif. in bad weather driving?

I have a 1990 240 and it's practically undrivable in snow and to some degree in bad weather. Looking at '97-'98 240 and wanting LSD. Very hard to find. Am I making a mt. outta mole hill? Should I not car if it comes w/ LSD and just add an LSD?

I wouldn't kill myself over it. You are looking for a diamond in the rough.

Get what you like and go aftermarket or ebay.

I daily drive with a 2 way and driving in the snow was fine.

From personal experience, an open diff "jolts" harder than an LSD diff when you regain traction from a slide or a spin... if the steering wheel is turned to one side, once one of the open-diff tires get a grip on something, man does the steering wheel try to throw you. I'm not sure if this is the case in snow, but in rain I'm thinking it would be better with an LSD because of the "trying to keep both drive wheels spinning at the same rate" thing.

$0.02 ching!
