Draining the Gas Tank

my 240 i just bought is going to be a long term project of mine, and it will be sitting for a long time(months at least). there is half a tank of gas in it, and i dont want that to go to waste with gas prices this high. im looking for a way to get the gas out of the tank. i tried pulling the hose off of the filter and turning the key on, but that wouldnt work. i think that was the result of me removing the fuel rail and wiring harness. so can i syphon it out, or hotwire the fuel pump?

If you're that desperate for gas, jump in the trunk (S14... dunno about S13) and take all the carpet out; on that big bump right behind the rear seats but before the spare tire well, there's a door on the right side of it. Take that off, pull out your fuel pump, and DO NOT light a cig.

Anyhow, you should smell fuel by now because it's right there for the taking.
