Electrical Gremlins (?)

Electrical Gremlins (?)
My gas gauge stopped working today. I JUST changed the oil yesterday, and my check engine light stopped turning on (it was on prior to the oil change). In the last 6 months, I've had to change the bulbs on my left headlight and fog light TWICE. Also the car has the ubiquitous "variable-idle" problem when it's cold outside (complete with lights dimming on and off). I know all these problems can be un-related, but I can't help but think that may be they ARE related. My question is, how would I go about checking the electrical "health" of the car? Should I just start by checking all the ground points? Or is there a more systematic methodical way to go about this? Thanx in advance...

its time to get out the manual i think that there is a ground problem dude, i got the same issue, blub's burning out all the time like i was running to much power or somthing. i wish i knew the propor answer to all this.

does one bulb seem brighter than the other. You may have a ground problem even if it doesnt seem brighter. The car may have some bad grounds and it could be grounding out through those lights causing excess current, burning out your bulbs.

where the hell do i start to look for grounds dude.. my lights are screwie darker and lighter etc.. i know the car is easy to search for stuff but where would i start looking?... for both a bad ground and out through the light.

I kinda have the same thing. My car when I roll the windows up and it hits the top all my headlights and everything goes really dim. Plus I just put in a new battery and now two weeks later my battery is dead. What the heck. plus my 240 is starting to kinda lurch or something when im driving down the road. Its ticking me off!
