Fans
Newbee ? I have a 91 240sx with 2 fans believe 1 electric conected to the radiator and 1 connected to the front of the motor. My ? is do I need the belt driven fan or can it be removed. I just finished replacing my front seal and relized the belt was so loose the fan wasnt spinning anyway.
thx :dunno: |
uh. you can remove it, but if you do that, your gonna need to take out the other fan and get some dual fans. theres write ups on how to install them.

rather than removing the clutch fan, why not tighten the belt, i'm no mr. obvious, but it seems to me that that would be the proper course of action.
|
Well thx for the obvious but I know how to fix the fan! ? is I removed the A/C unit looking to clean up the engine bay so is 2 fans needed if im not running A/C or will the factory electric fan be enough?
|
the electric fan is for the AC iirc.
|
Lol thx u have been a great help! New to this and ur sarcastic remarks are great!

Take the electric fan and wire it to a switch or an actual thermostat. In normal conditions (no boost) that fan is enough to keep the motor cool at idle. It is the condenser fan (for the A/C) but I always just rewire it to use it and get rid of the clutch fan.

Thx
