i heard sand bags are bad cuz u get the pendulum effect. It'll be harder to start sliding, but if it does start sliding.... it's helluva hard to stop it cuz it's a heeeeeaaaaavy back end.

haha my first winter with my s13 got me into a car accident, althougth it wasn;t my fault, but yea rwd + snow = good luck, im up in the North east im gonna see alot of snow soon, i just recommend going very slow, especially if u dont have abs breaking, and i think lsd helps when 1 wheel spins too much due to slippy condition,,, i wanted to get them chain too, but it's illegal, curse da law! Rules are uncool

yeah i live in mich. i dont recomend the sand bags either it will throw off your balance, cause the backend to keep swinging around. really the only to do is get good snow tires and keep a little salt a snow shovel and 2 peices of plywood just big enough for your tires to fit on, so you can get out of those ditches. learn to use rwd to your advantage in the snow. and good luck with it.

well its my 2nd year driving a 240 in the winter time and so far no accidents. i live up north where snow storms with combination of rain is quite common during this time of year. its best to have some really good winter tires especially in the rear, i would also like to mention (since no one brought it up)when coming to a stop common sense is to pump the breaks to prevent collisions and when its gets slippery you can try placing the car in 1st gear then apply the breaks if your car is manual. Also drive according to road conditions.

I wish it would snow out here. There's several good parking lots for playing in the snow. Supposedly it used to snow out here but it hasn't in a decade.

into first? my car won't shift into 1st unless I'm going like <5 mph.... I think second would work better... no? well I've never driven in the snow, so my advice doesn't mean much yet.
