Front strut bar problems? Any downside?

Alright guys. I have an s14. I have apexi coilovers, front tension rods, front and rear pillow mounts, and susp. tech. sway bars.

Is there ANY disadvantage at all to put on a FRONT and REAR strut bars? The bars are very high quality.

My concern is, a guy at the shop said the FRONT strut bar made things so stiff that he has understeer problems. (he has an s13 though) Does that make sense??? i cant figure out how that would hurt handling at all????

Has anyone heard of a NEGATIVE consequence of a front and rear strut bar?

thanks.

strut bar

morning, don't no wether this helps at all, a magazine here in uk is building a s14 sx as a project drift car, they hv a tein coilover system, then they added whiteline anti roll bars, and lastly front and rear strut braces! they did all this in stages 2 access the benefits of each product, the only negative thing they said was" that after adding the rear strut brace it appeared 2 make little difference 2 the handling of the car, although when the front was added, combined with the other parts it all tightened up well" they have since removed the rear strut brace, but have kept the front 1. after i saw the article in the mag,i have bought a front strut bar, don't know wot differece it makes yet,as the car is still at the tuners. neil!

raine has a 14, talk to him. if he has a front strut bar then he can tell you "oh yeah its ____" (fill in the blank raine, its all you.)

i have an s13 coupe with tein springs and front strut, i am very happy with it.....maybe that dude just doesnt know how to drive it right. the s13 in stock form has a tendency to understeer but i think it the set up i have actually reduced it some.

might his problem have to do with either pre loading the strut tower bar or not pre loading it... some of the bars suggest that you pre load them by lifting the front of the car off the ground... others say just bolt them on and tighten them up... i have no idea which way they are suposed to be done with each sway bar but it is something that could affect the handeling of the car...

just make sure you install it loaded/unloaded, whichever the instructions for your strut bars say to do.
